The Mankato women's junior team qualified Dec. 28th to advance to the 2014 USA Curling Junior National Championship to be held from Jan. 25- Feb. 1 at the Granite Curling Club in Seattle.
The event brings together the top 10 women's and men's junior teams around the country to compete for the U.S. national junior title. The winning teams will represent the U.S. at the 2014 World Junior Championships Feb. 26-March 5 in Flims, Switzerland.
The Mankato team consisting of Aly Deegan, Caiti Flannery, Katelyn Furst and Melissa Runing (skip) qualified during the Minnesota State Championships held in Duluth after completing a 4-1 round robin record.
A fundraiser spaghetti feed will be held on Thursday, January 16th (5:30pm - 8pm) at the Mankato Curling Club to help the girls in their efforts.
